Common Furnace Problems

Furnaces can experience a variety of issues, from minor inconveniences to major malfunctions. One of the most common problems is a malfunctioning thermostat. When the thermostat isn’t working correctly, it can’t properly communicate with the furnace, leading to inconsistent temperatures or the furnace not turning on at all. Another frequent issue is a broken blower motor, which prevents the heated air from being circulated throughout your home.

Clogged filters are another widespread problem that can hinder your furnace’s performance. Dirty or clogged filters restrict airflow, forcing your furnace to work harder and less efficiently. This not only reduces the comfort level in your home but can also lead to increased energy bills and a shorter lifespan for your furnace. At AC Today, we recommend regular filter changes to keep your HVAC system running smoothly and efficiently.

Pilot light issues are also common and can be caused by a variety of factors, such as a faulty thermocouple or a draft in the furnace area. These issues can result in the furnace failing to ignite, leaving your home cold. Our technicians at AC Today in Wake County are highly trained to diagnose and resolve these and other furnace problems quickly and effectively. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can prevent these issues from escalating, ensuring your home stays warm and comfortable throughout the winter.

Have a question?

Village District, was the first planned community to be developed in Raleigh, North Carolina. Development was started in 1947 when J.W. York and R.A Bryan bought 158 acres (64 ha) of undeveloped land two miles west of downtown Raleigh, near the North Carolina State University campus. The “village” was to consist of a shopping center, apartments, and single family homes. The area was renamed to Village District in 2021 to distance itself from the slave owning Cameron family, who owned Stagville Plantation, that it was originally named after.
